Birthday girl Amelia 'Milk' Sewell welcomed patrons to her candy shop last Saturday night for her birthday bash, 'Milkyway', held at The Quad in New Kingston.

A line of all-white clad patrons greeted the Gleaner team on arrival after midnight. Judging by the crowd outside, Milkyway seemed to be a hit with partygoers. Inside the Oxygen nightclub, Bloodline's DJ Narity and Buncoline kept the vibe going, mixing current rap and R&B hits with older dancehall songs.

Entertainment personalities, such as Nikki Z, Lady Saw, Christopher Martin, D Major, Voicemail, Raine Seville and Milk's former co-workers from CVM TV, were spotted by The Gleaner chilling out and enjoying the vibe. The birthday girl was kept busy, constantly on the move ensuring that her party ran smoothly - which it did.

Bloodline played a long and impressive set moving into a 'gangsta' segment with songs from Munga Honourable and Kartel's My Scheme getting a huge response from the crowd. Songs from Mavado and Kartel were booed at times by some groups, but were ignored by other patrons who were simply enjoying the music.

Throughout the night, most patrons kept the dancing vibe strong as they 'nuh lingered', swept others away and 'gully creeped'. Ramping Shop was replayed several times for the women.

By 2 a.m., both Oxygen and the Voodoo Lounge were filled with patrons, with people having to hang on to a spot where they could find the space. In the corridors, security guards directed the flow of persons exiting and entering the Oxygen nightclub to keep the area free of 'traffic'.

ZJ Liquid soon took over the turntables, playing a slew of current rap songs before moving on to a mini-daggering segment as the women assumed the bent over position throughout. The women 'got wild' for Kartel and played 'no games' with Serani to the content of their male partners. When The Gleaner left The Quad, the party was still going strong, with very few patrons leaving the venue.
