Portmoretake charge
Portmore United overtook long-time leaders Harbour View atop the Digicel Premier League standings, as they beat Sporting Central Academy 1-0 and the Stars of the East were felled by a similar margin in their giant clash against Boys' Town, at the Harbour View Mini Stadium last night.

In the clash at Brancourt against the second-season Clarendon team, Steven Morrissey notched the all-important goal only nine minutes into the game for the in-form defending champions, Portmore United.

They were recording their sixth consecutive win and moved to 37 points, three clear of Harbour View, who were joined at 34 by Tivoli Gardens, which piled more woes on Waterhouse by beating them 1-0 through a 31st-minute goal by Roen Nelson.

Waterhouse fired coach Hugh 'Bingi' Blair on Thursday, its second coaching change since the start of the season as Wayne Fairclough resigned last round. They stayed sixth on 23 points.

Harbour View, in the meantime, have virtually been at a standstill in the past three rounds, as they drew 1-1 with Rivoli United and Reno, before last night's home loss. Peter Keyes netted the winner for Boys' Town, which maintained fourth by moving to 33 points, only a point behind Harbour View.
