Jamaica's junior representatives, Ramone McKenzie, Latoya McDermott, Warren Weir, Kemoy Campbell and Danielle Dowie enjoyed good outings at Saturday's Douglas Forrest Invitational meet, which was held at the Stadium East complex.
Dowie was the only double winner, taking the 800m for Class Two girls, in 2:22.38, and the 400m hurdles open in 61.37 ahead of Latoya Campbell (61.68).
In the sprints, Latoya McDermott of St Andrew (25.41) beat Yanice Martin of St Jago (25.50) in the Class One 200m, while McKenzie, who won heat eight in 22.23, was second overall to his Calabar teammate Oshane Bailey (22.06) in the boys equivalent.
Girls 200m results
Danielle Williams (25.75) and Chanice Bonner (26.03), both of The Queen's School, won the respective classes Two and Three girls' 200m, while Wolmer's' Andreene Rose (26.52) beat St Jago's Georgiana Gordon (26.85) in the Class Four event.
Natasha Morrison of Glengoffe (26.00) and Sandrina Fearon of Clarendon College (26.39) were second in Classes Two and Three, respectively.
Travis Drummond of Calabar (22.65) beat Julian Forte of Wolmer's (22.85) in the Class Two boys' 200m, while in the Class Three, Ramoy Bonner of St George's College (23.46) beat Jamaica College's (JC) Deshon Jackson (23.57).
In the 400m hurdles boys' open event, St Jago's Andre Walsh (55.10) won ahead of Dwayne Extol of Wolmer's (56.17).
Kemoy Campbell ran away with the boys' 5000m open in 14:41.2, well ahead of Damarley Johnson of St Jago (16:00.1), while Rose-Marie Aldridge, also of Bellefield (11:05.7), had a huge win in the girls' 3000m open over Clarendon College's Janeen Tulloch (11:26.7).
In the Class Three 800m, Kissi- Ann Brown of Wolmer's (2:23.79) beat Antonette Grey of St Jago (2:29.31).
Alvin Green of Edith Dalton James (1:55.22) beat Kenyatta Osbourne (1:55.35) in the Class One 800m, while Earl Grant of JC Striders (2:02.13) and Alex Willis of Morant Bay High (2:07.03) took Classes Two and Three, respectively.
In the sprint hurdles, Wolmer's Kiesha Wallace took the girls' Class One 100m event in 14.73, ahead of Alpha's Chene Townsend (15.28), while Tonique Sobah of Morant Bay (14.52) beat Alpha's Kimberly Golding (15.06) in the Class Two 100m event.
St Jago pair Chrisdale McCarthy (12.44) and Shenel Francis (12.48) finished 1-2 in the 80m hurdles for Class Three girls.
On the boys' side, Warren Weir of Calabar (14.41) beat Kamal Fuller of Wolmer's (14.55) in the Class One 110m hurdles, while Lemmar Wilson of Kingston College (14.75) beat Wolmer's' Yanick Hart (14.8) in the Class Two event.
