URBAN CRICKET kingpins, Kingston College (KC), and Waterford High will meet in Group A's key match-up, while defending champions Eltham will play away to Penwood High in the third round of the ISSA/Grace Shield competition today.
KC, who have in their line-up national Under-19 and senior team invitee, legspinner Akeem Dewar, and have so far recorded two wins from as many starts, will be seeking to stop the victory train of Waterford, who in three outings have failed to drop a point.
Eltham, who are also three from three, will face a winless Penwood who, barring bad weather, should go down to their third consecutive defeat.
Over in Group B, where St Catherine and Innswood are slowly establishing themselves as favourites to advance to the semi-finals, the former will be at home to fourth-place Norman Manley in a match they are expected to win, while the latter, who are the surprise team of the competition, have drawn a bye and will be idle on the day.
Struggling to find form
In the St Catherine-Norman Manley showdown, the hosts, led by national Under-17 left-arm spinner Coi Thompson and Under-15 wicketkeeper Amanjah Morris, are expected to get the better of Norman Manley, who, since the departure of West Indies and Jamaica youth opener Horace Miller last season, have been struggling to find form.
St Catherine, with a 3-0-0 record, lead the group with maximum points, while Norman Manley are 1-1-1.
Elsewhere, third-place St Jago will host mid-table Excelsior; sixth-place Meadowbrook will entertain Dunoon, while former champions and out-of-form Spanish Town travel to Mona.
All matches begin at 10 a.m.
