With the Pick-9 proving elusive at Caymanas Park last Saturday, thanks to a 47-1 upset by the aptly named BIG MONEY, a payout in excess of $1.5 million looks likely tomorrow,
Tomorrow's programme comprises 12 races and will thus facilitate Super-6s, while the Pick-9 will embrace races four to 12.
We look at the second Super-6 which gets underway in race number seven with a competitive-looking 1500-metre race to be contested by seven starters.
Leading lights are the recent winners SPACEMAN, STAR OF THE SEA, ZUNZUN and HOMBRE. With lots of speed present, the pace could well come back to a strong finisher like STAR OF THE SEA. However, SPACEMAN (working well) was such an impressive winner over the circular nine course on Boxing Day that this free-running colt from the stables of Anthony Nunes is fancied to repeat with in-form Dane Nelson aboard.
Native-bred maiden
Next on the programme is Division II of the Eight Thirty Sprint for native-bred maiden three-year-old fillies over the straight five course in which nine have been declared. Victory will more than likely go to the Wayne DaCosta-trained BULLET LINE under champion jockey Omar Walker, following her fair third to stable-companion SKITTLE QUEEN over 1200 metres last Saturday.
SLIM TING, who has been knocking at the door recently, gets the nod over RENATA and KIKO in the ninth race over 1100 metres, while the recent winner UNCLE D AND ME should repeat at the expense of down-in-class MAN OF HONOUR and recent winner DIGI N' JIGGY in the 10th race over 1300 metres, race number one in the CTL Claiming Series.
Then, take the fleet-footed MR SKILL, an impressive winner last time out, as a banker in the 11th race over the round five course for open allowance horses, before closing the programme with the DaCosta-trained ROYALTY (working exceptionally well) over CLASSIC BEAU in the nightpan.
