A 'sterling' effort

With last year leaving many financial institutions out for the count, Sterling Asset Management still picked itself up off the canvas.

And to celebrate the navigation of a tough 2008, the folks celebrated with loyal clients and partners at the Old Ruins, beside the Mona Visitors' Lodge, on Thursday, January 15. The occasion was a groovy affair, made so by the Mello Groove band.

'Interesting' 09

Managing Director Charles Ross admitted the gravy train had come to a halt in '08. He joked that one way or another "09 will be interesting". He gave brief overviews of last year's numbers and this year's projections, concluding that President Obama has a tough job on his hands.

Guests were also introduced to the company's new website, which has very interactive features, including a click-to-call system which allows you to contact Sterling customer service personnel, using your computer. But the facts and figures aside, it was back to the live band music and enjoying the fare, some guests choosing to lounge sidewalk café-style on the lower levels of the venue.

Guests out included: Trevor Rhone, Clarence Williams, Dexter Chin, Dave Mohammed, Professor Kathleen Coard, Dennis Welds, Marcia Brown, Claudette Meghoo, Syringa Marshall-Burnett and Robert Chang.
