Tracey's hot streak continues

MANCHESTER HIGH'S Shana-Gaye Tracey continued her impressive early-season form when she won the girls' Class One 400m hurdles in a new meet record at the Central Hurdles and Relays Championships at G.C Foster College yesterday.

Tracey won the event in 1:02.32, erasing Andrea Reid's previous mark of 1:03.63.

Junie Baker of Vere Technical (1:3.26) and Tamara Kean of Holmwood Technical (1:04.91) were second and third.

Kavean Smith of Jamaica College (JC) captured the Class One boys' equivalent in 56.79, ahead of St Jago's Conroy Greaves (57.06) and his teammate, Kevoy Biggs (58.06).

New mark

Holmwood Technical's Janieve Russell won the Class Three 80m hurdles with a new mark of 12.09, erasing the previous best of 12.17.

Her teammate, Osheen Erskine, was second in 12.20 and Vere Technical's Tasha Clarke finished third (12.38).

Adriana Brown of Manchester High won the girls' Class Two 300m hurdles in meet-record 44.39, ahead of teammate Shay-Ann Holness (45.84) and Shanique Fraser of Holmwood Technical (84.13).

Manchester High's Jerece Maxwell captured the girls' Class Two 100m hurdles in 15.20, in front of Brown (15.36) and Edwin Allen's Ristananna Tracey (15.70).

Leslie-Ann Mitchell of Manchester High won the girls' Class One 100m hurdles in 14.87. Edwin Allen's Ann-Marie Duffus (16.35) and Holmwood Technical's Loian Clarke (17.09) filled the minor placings.

JC's Steven James eased to victory in 15.27 to win the boys' Class One 110m hurdles, ahead St Jago's Conroy Greaves (16.38) and Franklyn Mitchell of Manchester (16.55).

Dwight Hall of St Jago claimed the boys' Class Two 110m hurdles in 15.35, ahead of Munroe College's Patrick Campbell (16.24) and his teammate Kevoy Campbell (16.75).

Sprint events

In the sprint events, Adolphus Nevers of St Jago won the boys' Class One 100m in 11.28, ahead of University of Technology's (UTech) Kemar Brown (11.36) and his teammate Nicholas Watson (11.41).

UTech's Stephanie McPherson won the Clubs and Institutions 100m in 12.41, ahead of teammate Nadia Cunningham (12.47) and Amoy Ellis (13.04). Orlando Morgan of UTech took the men's equivalent in 11.11 ahead of teammates Ramone Barnswell (11.22) and Richard Brown (11.25).

Keneil Lee of UTech captured the men's 400m in 48.50 ahead of his teammate, Ricardo Cunningham (48.65) and Sabiel Anderson of G.C. Foster College (48.74).

Edwin Allen took the girls' Class One 4x100m relay in 45.60, ahead of Holmwood Technical (46.44). Holmwood won the Class Two 4x100m relay in 46.06, ahead of Manchester (47.13) and Edwin Allen (47.37).
