CROWDS CAME at intervals throughout the day to attend the ultimate all-inclusive beach party, 'Tease', at Tropical Beach in Montego Bay, St James, on Saturday, January 24. The buzz was still about the city's jazz festival later that evening and there were a few local celebrities in attendance.

A star-studded event, we spotted Olympian Usain Bolt, DJ Beenie Man, and dancehall entertainer Ce'Cile arrived in style ready to enjoy the festivities. Bolt was bombarded by fans as he attempted to stroll around the small area that featured his Jamrock magazine cover, and he found it difficult to walk even a few steps without being stopped and asked to take a picture with an adoring fan.

Hosted by Jamrock magazine's founder, David 'Squeeze' Annakie, and BETJ's Jeanille Bonterre, the party featured free drinks and traditional Jamaican cuisine by Kingston's Truck Stop Restaurant and catering company.

"This is the place for people to come and relax before going to jazz tonight," said Annakie. He said because of the party's short duration, guests would have adequate time to get ready for the festival later that night.

Annakie, who claims to personally know President Barack Obama, and also said that the photo of Obama for the Jamrock January/February issue was taken by him. According to the Jamrock website, the magazine has a wide circulation and is "committed to showcasing the culture and lifestyle of all Caribbean people and their powerful influence."

Visitors came from far and wide to enjoy the event as they danced and relaxed to the sounds of reggae music in the background.

Appleton rum and Hennessy were the drinks of choice and the bartenders did not get one second of rest. At the end of the evening, guests left equipped with party favours, including Obama Jamrock magazine issue, contraceptives, and energy drinks.
