KC, St Catherine clash in Grace Shield semis
Kingston College (KC) will host last year's beaten finalists, St Catherine High and Calabar High will entertain Innswood High in the second set of matches of the semi-final round of the urban area ISSA Grace Shield cricket competition, today.

KC, who fell to newcomers Innswood in the first set of matches, will be hoping to rebound by at least claiming first innings points against St Catherine whose first game against Calabar was washed out, ending in a no-result.

In the Calabar versus Innswood match-up, the former, who were beaten in the final of the second-tier First Global Bank 'A' League final over a week ago, will have to dig tooth and nail if they are to put a dent in Innswood's record, which has seen them gone unbeaten in the competition after nine matches.

Meanwhile, action in section one of the playoffs, will continue tomorrow with defending champions Eltham traveling to Campion and red-hot Waterford venturing to Excelsior.

Seven-wicket haul

Waterford, behind a seven-wicket haul from national Under-17 left-arm pacer Vandrane Rowe defeated Campion College outright in their first outing and will be seeking at least first innings honours over Excelsior, who lost first innings to Eltham in their first match.

Eltham, meanwhile, will be looking to secure an outright win over Campion to keep up with leaders Waterford. Campion, the 'A' League champions, will be gunning for at least a first innings win to stay alive in the competition.

Only sectional winners will advance to the final, which be held later this month over three days and two innings.

The semi-finals are played over two days and two innings.
