Thank you
The Editor, Sir:

We at the Women's Resources and Outreach Centre (WROC) thank you for the front page report in The Gleaner of March 12 which highlights the work being done in St Thomas under the EU/WROC/Christian Aidlivelihoods project.

Please note:

The work is being done in five ex-banana producing communities in St Thomas - Somerset (where the check dams are being built), Johnson Mountain, Trinityville, Spring Bank and Mount Vernon.

The entire programme - building of check dams and other livelihood projects, including the strengthening of community-based organisations, providing different economic activities for the communities and residents, creating income generation and employment opportunities and helping the communities cope better with natural disasters - fall under the Rural Diversification Project which is benefiting all five ex-banana producing communities.

Thank you.

I am, etc.,
