Pulse's Jeneil on Fire

Jeneil

Hot Pulse model Jeneil Williams is on fire! In an amazing three weeks, Williams has followed her impressive New York Fashion Week debut with a string of campaigns and other assignments that are as impressive for their importance and quality, as they are for their range and impact.

Selected by Italian Vogue to appear in their all-important 'black girls' issue, Williams made history as the only Caribbean model to grace the pages of the special edition. She followed this historic feat with appearances for more than a dozen designers at the New York Fall/Winter shows (opening collections for three designers including Diesel).

She was then snapped up by Ford for the Paris shows where she had the distinction of walking for the internationally revered Lanvin and the highly regarded Castel Baga, among a number of other featured designers.

Dream streak

After the shows, Williams dream streak continued, as she shot a 10-page editorial in Brussels and another in Paris for the fashion forward Under The Influence and the cool Dealer De Luxe magazines respectively. On her return to New York last week, she shot Bennetton, for the second straight year with the celebrated photographer David Simms, in an elaborate campaign shoot spread over several days.

Now she is booked for W and has a string of options, some of which have been put on hold, as she jets off to Brussels to appear in the Jamaica Fashion Collections, being produced by her agency, Pulse. Also in Brussels for the Jamaican shows are the likes of Jaunel McKenzie, Kimanee Wilson, Carla Campbell, Rochelle Watson and Reshima Hemmings. Other Pulse stars include Caribbean Model Search (CMS) winners Latesha Coleman, Rochelle Notice, Crystal Patterson and Shevolee Bell, along with other CMS alumni Adrianna Bryan and Racquel Smith.

Major triumph

Bennetton is yet another major 2009 campaign triumph by Williams since the start of the year. Previously, she nabbed the lead model role for the Jawbone Bluetooth campaign. Other 2009 noteworthy successes include feature editorials in French GQ, Germany's Deustch magazine and Russia's Depesha.

A large contingent of Jamaican models, designers, producers, stylists and officials are currently in Brussels for the shows, which are being managed and produced by Pulse, under contract with Jamaica Trade and Invest.

The European Commission team, sponsors of the intervention through the PSDP, is headed by Ambassador Marco Mazzocchi Alemanni, who has joined officials from Jamaica including the minister of information, culture, youth and sports, Olivia Grange, and the Jamaican Ambassador to Brussels, Marcia Gilbert-Roberts.
