To capture memorable moments you can opt to walk with your camera, that is if it's compact enough and easy to carry around in your pouch.
It's the final week of the carnival season and one of the most anticipated moments will take place on Sunday, bringing down the curtain on this year's carnival. Revellers, especially the women, will take to the streets looking hot to trot as they parade in the different costumes on the streets of Kingston and St Andrew.
But looking great in the costume isn't the only thing to consider. There are some essential items to have and things that have to be done to survive during the mas parade. So, this week Flair presents a survival kit chock-full of all the items you need and some of what you need to do to guarantee a fantastic ending to the carnival season. Play mas and have a memorable time.
Essential items needed for the day are: your cell phone, emergency cash, medication, safety pins in case there is a mishap on the day and, of course, lipgloss. Accessorise and play up your costume and enjoy 'chipping' down the road on the last lap. Have fun!

There are no pockets on those costumes and there are definitely some things you would want to take with you. A small pouch worn over the shoulders can be a solution for this. Any essentials small enough should be able to fit in this pouch and these pouches can be made and designed to match the costumes.
Wear comfortable sneakers, preferably ones that have been worn for quite some time. These sneakers should be comfortable enough and be able to endure all the dancing, walking and jumping for all those hours on the streets.
You definitely need to top up on the sunscreen. Apply liberally over your body and face. The chances of the sun blazing down on you are quite high, so be on the safe side by protecting your skin from its rays. You can also look fashionable while protecting your eyes from the glare by wearing your sun glasses/shades.
Get a proper pedicure and have your toenails cut short. The last thing you want is to break your toenail or even lose it due to the constant movement pushing your toes to the front of the sneakers. For a pain-free end to the season, cut those nails short.
It is important to stay hydrated. Drinking cold fluids is certainly a must during the parade. Even though there will be alcohol available, please remember that your body will still need a little cooling down with water. Don't overdo things by getting intoxicated.
