Boys' Town's coach, Andrew Price, insists his team have not yet packed it in for the season, following a comfortable 2-0 Digicel Premier League victory over Waterhouse at Collie Smith Drive yesterday.
Despite the ease with which they dispatched Waterhouse, a team that battered the Red Brigade 6-2 when they last met at Drewsland, Boys' Town still have some work to do to mount a realistic title challenge.
Striker George Vernal and defender Wayne Ellis made the most telling contributions for the home team, netting in the 14th and 43rd minutes in yesterday's game.
In fact, it was little surprise when Boys' Town did take the lead through Vernal, as they had dominated play from the opening whistle.
Having failed to take heed of an attempt that had to be hurriedly cleared off the goal line only minutes before, Waterhouse paid the price when Vernal blasted a ball played into his path by Garfield Gillespie, past a fully stretched Richard McCallum and into the back of the net, from just inside the area.
Poor marking from the visitors saw them fall further behind with two minutes to go to the interval as no one picked up Ellis, who coasted in for a free header past McCallum.
"We have not given up on the title, we just want to keep winning as many games as possible and see what happens," was Pryce's assessment of the situation.
"Once you have a mathematical chance, you have to go for it, we just want to see how many games in a row we can win and where it takes us," he added.
Waterhouse's assistant coach, Orlando Clarke, who sat in for Paul Young, believed a slow start was his team's undoing.
"They have a good offence but we are also capable of scoring goals. However, I think we got into our game too late," he said.
