Based on the responses we have received from women ridiculing this widow who is still blessed with a fantastic sex drive, I am assuming that there are far too many of you who don't place enough importance on sex. I would also dare to say it is no wonder that your husbands in the 50-75 age group leave their cold, frigid bedrooms for warmer temperatures elsewhere.
I say lighten up; nothing is wrong with celebrating the fact that you are still hot and horny way into the 60s, 70s and 80s. Yes, there are quite a few seniors, grannies and old folks still wanting and having sexual intercourse regularly. And nothing is wrong with them. They are just healthy and lucky!
New mate
One of my neighbours is 77. after her husband died and she had observed a reasonable period of mourning, her new mid-50s mate moved in. He is a regular handyman who fixes everything inside and outside the house, pampers her, respects her, does not make demands and her adult children understand that she has needs that neither they nor the church can satisfy. Women who are still sexually active in their senior years should celebrate it. Stop assuming that the church is the answer to everything. Sometimes all women need is a nice bout of good old-fashioned loving.
Active libido
Women who have an active libido are not necessarily oversexed. This 67-year-old does take an active part in her community and charity work. No one was implying she needs a male prostitute and I suggested a younger man because they have more energy to keep up with women in their prime and far fewer hang-ups.
Finally, The Gleaner has many professionals who answer questions dealing with emotional and other problems. The purpose of Singular Subjects is simply to air in a light-hearted way, topics that most single adult women discuss with each other every day all over the world.
