The Lexmark X7675 printer is top-drawer material.

Payton H. Wilmott, Gleaner Writer

Hello, folks, I'm back this week with an awesome printing solution for businesses that need a central printing area.

The Lexmark Professional X7675 is a great buy for businesses that need to set up a central location for printing, scanning, faxing and copying documents. Let's take an upclose look.

Design

The Lexmark X7675 has an attractive black finish with silver side panelling and clean, rounded edges. The printer measures eight inches high by 19 inches wide by 14 inches deep. It only weighs 19 pounds, making it easy to unplug and transport around the home or office.

The front of the printer is pretty basic, except for a media card reader on the right side that supports PictBridge USB, SD, MS, xD, MMC, CF, and MD cards as well as a centre control panel that folds on a hinge for adjustable viewing angles. The lovely thing about this printer is that it lets you connect to your computer directly through USB or using the built-in 802.11b/g wireless print server.

Setting up either way is very easy, thanks to Lexmark's onscreen guide. An indicator on the front of the printer alerts you to the status of your connection: green for 'connected', yellow for 'on, but not connected', and red for 'off'.

Performance

The output quality of the prints on the Lexmark makes up for its longer-than-average print times. We printed on the highest settings with all six colours and are happy to report that the Lexmark X7675 has excellent detail and tone to its prints. Also, business users hoping to print out PowerPoint presentations will also be satisfied with this printer capability to show accurate colour control.

It's exceptional when it comes to printing text documents. Words are printed so clear and crisp that I couldn't find anything to complain about in this area.

Application

What would be the perfect way to use this type of printer? After testing the different features the X7675 has to offer, I was impressed by its performance and quality output. Just think, a central printer that can be connected to all your computers that you have at an Internet café easily without all the wires and hassle. It can ease the hassle of adding a printer to a computer network.

Final Thoughts

If you check the prices for a printer that has the same features as the Lexmark X7675, you'll realise that this printer is well worth every penny.
