Up to late yesterday evening, police personnel in the St Catherine South Division were trying to ascertain who was responsible for the shooting of four persons, one fatally, in the Portsmouth community yesterday.
The Waterford police told The Gleaner that a group of persons were on a street when a car drove up and occupants from the vehicle fired shots, hitting three men and a woman.
An unidentified man died on the spot while two others and a woman were hospitalised, where they remained up to press time.
The shooting of the four followed a double murder in Kitson Town, St Catherine, the night before, where two men, Steve Sutton and Oral Roberts, both of a Naseberry Grove address, were shot and killed.
Reports from the Guanaboa Vale police are that about 10:30 p.m. the two were standing on a road in their community when a car drove up, two men alighted, brandished guns and shot them.
The St Catherine South Division has recorded 122 murders up to October 11 this year, while St Catherine North recorded 115.
