The Solaris Estate in St Thomas was transformed into another all-white winter wonderland as Daydreams rocked the venue from early in the day until after 11 p.m. on Sunday night.

Although a day event, Daydreams saw the majority of patrons arriving later in the night as they made sure to partake of the available food being served at the back of the venue and paid frequent visits to the well stocked bars that the all-inclusive event promised.

With most patrons decked out in white, the venue, which overlooks St Thomas, had a fairytale feel, as persons mingled but spent most of their time dancing to the music of Coppershot and Renaissance disco.

When The Gleaner arrived, the party was well under way with persons dancing throughout the venue to songs from Rihanna, Lady Gaga and others.

Many stars, entertainers

Entertainers such as Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Assassin, I-Shawna and the Big Ship crew, as well as sprinter Usain Bolt, were seen among the patrons enjoying themselves and taking pictures with eager fans.

When Coppershot's DJ Sanjay started with a number of soca songs, the 'soca junkies' stepped out in full force and got the wining started. As the tempo changed to some 90s dancehall music, the female patrons 'bubbled' as their male counterparts watched their every move.

The dancehall vibe continued as the selectors gave 'big ups' to Buju Banton as news spread over the weekend that the reggae singer was being held in a Miami jail on drug-related charges. Songs such as Till Shiloh and I Wanna Be Loved got a huge 'forward' from the crowd as the selectors gave their best wishes to Banton.

DJ Cutty soon took over microphone duties, calling out all the females to have fun with selections from the Trippple Bounce rhythm. As Renaissance took over once again, Coppershot ended their set with Ding Dong's Holiday that got the 'pull up' at least three times as the entire venue 'summa swinged' and sang along.

Jazzy T later had the crowd singing to Alicia Keys' Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart and Slow Motion from Vybz Kartel. But after some more R&B, it was right back into the new dancehall songs, those on the GoGo Club rhythm going down well with patrons.

While Daydreams wasn't jam-packed, the party had a good turnout and vibe, as persons danced the night away, laughing with friends and making frequent trips to the bar.
