The Prime Minister has shown a willingness to intervene in matters of extreme national importance. Only time will tell if the non-binding summit involving the Gully-Gaza proponents will bear fruit.
Another matter of extreme national importance that begs intervention at the highest level is the carnage being wreaked on our roads by irresponsible, unthinking and moronic operators of public passenger vehicles.
Dont limit it to drivers
The magnitude of this problem warrants the intervention of Jamaica House to push for the passing of meaningful legislation that will result in (among other measures) the revocation of driver's licences and permit to operate, and confiscation of vehicle(s). The new legislation should not be limited to drivers but also to their employers; because unless we pass legislation that is stinging and far-reaching, the recklessness on our roads will continue.
