After almost three months of non-activity at the Palisadoes International Raceway in Kingston, go-kart racing is scheduled to resume on Sunday, with an interesting line up of experienced drivers.

"I am looking forward to a competitive day of fun and excitement. Members of the public are being invited to come and sample a ride around the track in a shifter kart.

"This will make them feel the adrenaline rush that Lewis Hamilton feels on any given race day," said Peter Rae, the newly elected president of the Jamaica Karting Association (JKA).

Though it will not be a meet to amass points towards the 2010 championship, trophies will be presented to the respective winners of each event.

The karters will be using Sunday's meet to prepare themselves for the upcoming Homestead and Moroso championships in Miami, Florida.

The list include Colin Daley Jr, Richard Lechler, Jonathan Law and Williams Myers, who will be competing in the CKI Florida Cup in Homestead. The karters are being prepared by the NG Racing Team, led by the veteran Peter Moodie Sr.Come next weekend, Joshua and Justin Sirgany, Adam Minott, Thomas Issa and Matthew Williams will travel to West Palm Beach, to compete in the Florida Winter Tour championship. This batch of karters will be competing under the watchful eyes of the president.

80 cc Class

On Sunday, the 80cc Class is expected to be dominated by cousins, Justin and Joshua Sirgany and Richard Lechler, but the man who could upset the apple cart is Mark Anthony Eaton or Senna Summerbell.

Meanwhile, the ding-dong battle between Issa, Law and William McConnell, is expected to continue in the Rotax Mini-Max Class. Also Daley, Myers and Williams are expected to renew their rivalry in the Rotax Junior Class. However, they must all watch out for the female sensation, Samantha Summerbell who is bubbling with confidence ahead of the challenge.
