We have done what we can
THE EDITOR, Sir:

I CONTINUE to sit and wonder if our Government really sat and thought about the Haiti issue. The Dominican Republic and Haiti are on the same island - Hispaniola. So why not send the Haitians to Dominica? Was the Republic destroyed too?

We are already facing an economic crisis, so why do we accept Haitians to make a bad situation worse? I do agree that they need help, but we can do so much and no more. Haitian criminals are walking the streets as free men. They practice voodoo. I am sure we do not need these persons in our country.

When all the persons migrate from Haiti, who will help to rebuild their country? Will it remain devastated? I am sure most persons will agree with me. We have donated what we can, and given our deepest sympathy, but we cannot keep them here.

I am, etc.,

Kenesh Lawrence
