Work and travel overseas
Global Hospitality Network in partnership with Global Choices, their overseas recruiting partner and sister company, are now in the process of recruiting students for the overseas Work and Travel Programme. "We are inviting participants from tertiary institutions to seize the opportunity to be a part of the Hospitality Network Global Choices Work and Travel Programme," said Marlene Knight-Brown, executive director of Global hospitality network in Jamaica.

She explained that to achieve their objective, their overseas partner Giedrius Mazurka, the managing director of Global Choices, will be visiting Jamaica later this month for the confirmation of recruitment and presentation on the programme. This is scheduled for January 16 at 2:00 p.m., at 17 Holborn Road, New Kingston.

Visitor exchange programme

The work and travel USA programme, is a visitor exchange programme that recruits full-time students from tertiary institutions outside the United States for students to work and travel in the USA. The programme is designed to achieve the educational objectives of international exchange by directly involving students to work during their summer holidays. The programme also allows the participants to earn modest spending money at the same time.

The programme allows for cultural exchange. As Knight-Brown explains, "Our associate firms Hospitality Network and Hotelympia International, which is based in Florida, will be assisting some of these students to participate in our overseas internship programmes, nanny programme, summer camp USA and the H2B work programmes".

Secured job offer a must

Participants are required to have a secured job offer prior to arriving in the United States. The participant and the U.S. employers are required to submit a letter of acceptance before the DS2019 form is issued. The DS2019 form is NOT a visa. The participant must take the DS2019 form and apply for the J-1 visa at the nearest US consulate in their country.

The J-1 visa allows the participant to enter and legally work in the United States for up to four months.
