Marlon King shines

LONDON, England (CMC):

Reggae Boy Marlon King brushed his legal troubles aside yesterday as he scored to help Middlesbrough pummel his former club Hull City 3-1 and begin their climb out of the relegation zone.

The embattled striker, who appeared in court this week to answer several charges, scored a late goal at the Riverside Stadium in northeast England to help the Premier League strugglers win their first match in six outings.

King has been charged with sexual assault by touching and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stemming from an incident that occurred in a London club last December when he was still a member of Hull City.

Ironically, the 28-year old had been celebrating after scoring the winner for Hull in a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough.

When he appeared on Wednesday in Westminster Magistrates Court, the 28-year old was granted bail and is scheduled to reappear at Southwark Crown Court on May 14.

His legal troubles put aside if only temporarily, King punished the club that dumped him in January this year, when he slotted in from close range in the dying moments of the game.
